A defense minister has confirmed that the Ministry of Defence is currently examining the possible security risks associated with Chinese-made vehicles, while personnel have been advised to refrain from talking about classified information in all vehicles.
Security Advice for MoD Personnel
During a recent interview on a radio station, a defence minister commented on claims that Ministry of Defence staff have been told not to talk about classified material while travelling in China-made vehicles.
He stated that the MoD is “investigating” Chinese vehicles within its fleets, but stressed that safety is a issue in all contemporary vehicles.
Our department has a collection of tens of thousands of vehicles in the MoD and those vehicles represent a very small number.
