Last Friday, Donald Trump responded at China’s decision to reinforce its rules for exports of critical elements, charging China of “becoming very hostile” and attempting to hold the world “captive”.
Furthermore, he vowed to pull out of a planned talks with China’s President Xi Jinping, which was arranged for a meeting in Seoul before the month ends.
The former president’s remarks on last Friday unsettled global markets, with the benchmark US stock index dropping over two and a half percent, marking its steepest fall since April.
The president’s words reignited concerns of a commercial dispute between the two economic giants.
Earlier this year, the both nations had consented to remove triple-digit tariffs on each other’s imports, which had led to concerns of commerce ceasing between the economic powers.

“The nation’s view” on a tariff war has always been consistent: we are not seeking one, but we are fearless of one.”
